Appointments

Appointments can be made online or by telephone by calling 01709 724738 for Broom Lane, 01709 551157 for Kimberworth Park,from 8am.  We operate an appointment system for all surgeries.

Our aim is to offer an appointment with a Primary Care professional within 24 hours and a GP within 48 hours.

You can pre-book appointments, sometimes up to six weeks in advance. Although there is a limited number of pre-bookable appointments, this should enable you to make an appointment with the doctor of your choice or at a time to suit you. Further appointments are released weekly, which gives added flexibility to the system.

Other appointments are released daily; same-day appointments should be requested when a condition or illness needs a health professional’s input that day. We will endeavour to give you an appointment with the practitioner of your choice. If we are unable to achieve this we will explain why.

Do not waste your appointment -you can cancel online or call us. It is important that if for any reason you cannot keep your appointment you contact the surgery so that your place can be given to someone else who may be in great need. Patients who persistently fail to cancel appointments may run the risk of being removed from the Practice list. Emergency Appointments

A doctor is always available, but should only be called if the problem cannot wait until the next surgery. Contact the surgery on 01709 724738 or 01709 551157 and give your details and as much information as possible about your present condition to the receptionist who will then contact the doctor on your behalf.

Preference Of Practitioner

Patients are registered with the Practice, not an individual GP. For administrative reasons your medical card will be issued in the name of one of the doctors; however, you can at any time express a preference for a particular doctor, for either all of your medical needs or on a case-by-case basis. This preference will be recorded in your medical notes and we will do our best to respect your choice. However, not all the doctors in the Practice provide all services and specific doctors may not be immediately available

Home Visits

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:30 if you require a home visit.

Home visits are at the discretion of the attending doctor, and the attending doctor may call you in advance of his/her visit. Home visits are not usually given to children or for self limiting illnesses. Children will more often than not be expected to attend the surgery so as not to delay a diagnosis.

Home visits are for the terminally ill and the bed-bound, not the housebound; lack of transportation, for whatever reason, is not an indication for a home visit.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the surgery.

Disabled Access

Wheelchair access is available at both our medical centres. Consulting rooms can be accessed by patients in wheelchairs and suitable patients' toilets are provided.

We also have parking spaces outside each of our surgeries which are reserved for patients displaying a disabled sticker.

For patients with hearing problems or impaired vision please alert reception staff who will be pleased to assist you. There is a portable hearing loop for the hearing impaired, which can be taken from reception to the consulting room, if required.

GP Training

We are a training Practice and have registrars carrying out surgeries with guidance from Dr Kacker and Dr Idukallu. The registrars are qualified doctors who are training to become GPs.

Medical Student Training

We often have medical students at the practice who will sit in during consultations and with more experience have their own clinics with close supervision from the supervising GP who will review every patient.  We pride ourselves on offering a great experience to our medical students and hope to encourage more of them to become GPs of the future. 

You will be informed of student presence in clinics in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation please let reception know and your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.

Youth Friendly Practice

The Practice welcomes young people. You should know that your rights are exactly the same as for any adult. You should also know that confidentiality is your right and the Practice respects that by not disclosing information about you to a third party without your consent.

But, at the same time, you also have to respect other people's confidentiality by not discussing what you see or hear whilst on Practice premises.
